Hi! I’m Rodney, and I’m a fine art wedding photographer in the mountain town of Crossnore, but I shoot weddings all over.
Let me be the first to say, “Welcome to the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, the most beautiful place on the planet!” I’ve been able to call Avery County home since I was born and have lived in the same community all of my life…so I could be a little biased.
I enjoy traveling and seeing other places–especially many of the beautiful National Parks in the American West–but it’s always great to get back home to North Carolina.
I live in a cozy house in Avery County. My dog, Ebbie, is half English hound and half black lab. She is full of energy and thinks she’s the world’s greatest hunter. I also keep fish. I have tropical tanks at home and my office and a saltwater aquarium at home.
My favorite things in the world are the Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy and making lists (I love to get things organized and ready to go!), and when I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me sitting on the swing on my front porch when the weather’s warm–watching the birds (cardinals and woodpeckers are my favorites), feeling the breeze, listening to my neighbor’s donkey, Otis, bray, and playing fetch with Ebbie.
I couldn’t live without Jesus, my family and my camera. I spend a lot of time laughing and nothing makes me happier than meeting new people.
My love of people is what inspired me to become a wedding photographer. I’ve been a photographer for 25+ years and I’m having so much fun. The best thing about being a wedding photographer is that I get to create art and shoot people in love.
My couples value good photography, wedding albums, and printed images, and the last thing they want is a photographer who is super cheesy and makes them pose all day.
My wedding photography style is classic and artistic. I capture all the joyful and romantic moments and let you get on with having a fantastic wedding. My favorite part about a wedding day is the portrait session because it’s so intimate and beautiful.
Your wedding is all about love. You don’t care about ugly chair covers or worrying about the little things that don’t matter – you just want to dance to your favorite songs with your best friend.
If this sounds like you, and get in touch!
This is the closest thing I could find of me holding a camera as a kid. 🙂
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.“—Jim Elliot, 1927-1956
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
“I am [in your world].’ said Aslan. ‘But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.”― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
“Yes,” said the Lord Digory, “Its inside is bigger than its outside.”
“Yes,” said Queen Lucy. “In our world too, a stable once had something inside it that was bigger than our whole world.”― C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia
